Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest Eligibility:-

1. The pupils are all 12th graders as well as undergraduate and graduate students from around the world.
2. All Candidates must be citizens of the United States.
3. Each and every Candidate must be able to produce an essay on a particular topic.

Applications Required to Apply for the Scholarship:-

• Every year, students are allowed to enter the contest with one entry.
• Each and every student must submit an essay that is 800-1600 words long, written entirely in English.
• Essays must be the sole creation of the applicant. Plagiarism will automatically disqualify you.

Note: Essays will be graded on how well the student can defend and justify their opinions, not on whether or not the Institute shares their opinions. The text should be concise, well-written, and ordered properly in the eyes of the judges. Winning essays must exhibit a superb understanding of Atlas Shrugged’s philosophical significance.

Essay Topic:-

Pick one of the following subjects:

1. Material possessions that many of the characters in Atlas Shrugged take for granted grow more and more elusive as the tale develops. Give many instances of these items, and then discuss how the narrative explains their disappearance. Identify the economic, moral, and philosophical factors that contributed to their extinction. Do the shortages our globe has recently experienced have any notable similarities? Explain any similarities and differences (utilizing actual examples).
2. There are several allusions to motors and motive force, both literally and figuratively, throughout Atlas Shrugged. Give three instances of this from the book, and then explain what they signify in the context of the situations they were selected from. How does this interpretation fit into the book’s larger philosophical themes?
3. John Galt saves particular scorn for the “mystics” who assert that man’s job is to “crawl through years of penance, atoning for the guilt of his existence to any stray collector of inexplicable debts” among the several “morality of death” proponents he criticizes in his radio speech. Give at least two of the human nature beliefs that Galt claims these mystics promote in order to support their moral worldview. Then, pick a character from Atlas Shrugged who has trouble embracing these principles to demonstrate their impact. (If one character suffers from both ideologies, only that character has to be discussed.) What kinds of actions are encouraged by the doctrines? What are the repercussions for the relevant character(s)? How does this conflict get resolved?
