About BASF / Alfred Chisholm Memorial Scholarship

American Scholarship | Undergraduate sophomores, juniors, and seniors enrolling in Historically Black Colleges or Universities are eligible for the scholarship. The applicant must major in supply chain management and logistics, industrial engineering, mathematics, biology, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, engineering, environmental engineering, finance, industrial engineering, or business.

The BASF/Alfred Chisholm Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in 1997 in memory of Alfred L. Chisholm, a former employee of BASF who worked as a community leader and was responsible for raising thousands of dollars to support college-bound children.

Students in their sophomore, junior, or senior years of undergraduate study at historically black colleges and universities are eligible for the scholarship. The African American Employees Resource Group (AAEG) at BASF actively supports this position, thus applicants’ sponsored students or relatives are strongly encouraged to apply.

Eligible Candidate: Students enrolled in undergraduate programs at historically black colleges and universities who are in their sophomore, junior, or senior year are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Their sponsored pupils or relatives are particularly encouraged to apply due to the active involvement of BASF’s African American Employees Resource Group (AAEG).

  1. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent residents.
  2. Candidates must score a Minimum GPA of 2.7
  3. Candidates must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors in college.

Application Required to apply for the Scholarship:-

  • One letter of recommendation: (1) from an influential member of the community.
  • 250 words or less must be used in a personal essay. Please go to the essay portion of the application for more information.
  • A copy of the most current official transcript for the applicant.
