Students enrolling in an aviation program at a university with full accreditation are eligible for the Calvin L. Carrithers Aviation Scholarship. Throughout the academic year, the applicant must be prepared to write a minimum of once a week 200–500 words blog posts.

How well a pilot is flying for a living or just for enjoyment, GlobalAir.com thinks the world needs more of them. We have a strong commitment to advancing aviation’s future and assisting young people in achieving their objectives. The Calvin L. Carrithers Aviation Scholarship awards four American college or university students committed to blogging online about their flight training, flying, studies, and interest in aviation $1,000 each per year. The GlobalAir.com editorial team will help the academics develop their writing and social media abilities. Our scholarship platform acts as a recruiting tool for the school as well as a means of connecting the student pilot with a sizable online aviation community of pilots, engineers, and flight departments. Submissions will be taken beginning in March (Every Year).

About Calvin L. Carrithers
A veteran of the Korean War and educator Calvin L. Carrithers devoted a lot of his time to volunteering. In Gallipolis, Ohio, Calvin started his career teaching as a coach in high school and teacher. In the end, he returned to his birthplace of Louisville, Kentucky, where he taught industrial arts and coached baseball, basketball, and track before moving into administration and rising to the position of assistant superintendent of Jefferson County Public Schools. Mr. Carrithers, who strongly believes in lifelong learning, earned his Master’s at the University of Indiana before starting work on his doctoral degree there. He was also a member of Phi Delta Kappa and the International School of Business Officials.

Calvin L. Carrithers Aviation Scholarship Eligibility
Participants must be citizens of the United States and must be placed in an American university program in aviation (such as commercial aviation, basic professional training, aviation management, airport management, etc.) that is fully approved. Candidates must be able to post a 500-word blog entry while attending school at least once per week during the scholastic year. Posts can be made about any topic the student finds interesting that relates to life in a collegiate aviation program, including aircraft, flying, ground training, weekend activities, internships, and more.
Candidates must explain their involvement in aviation and the career path they have selected in their essays. They should also go into detail about their objectives for the academic year and how they intend to achieve them. They should also show how they will maintain consistency with the demands of keeping up with blog posting in addition to education, work (if applicable), social life, traveling, etc. Although there is no minimum level of word count, the requirements will most likely be met with 800-1,000 words.
Application Process for Aviation Scholarship
You must have to describe the following in the essay:
- Candidates must describe their passion for aviation and the career path they have chosen in their essay.
- They should also go into detail about their objectives for the academic year and how they intend to achieve them.
- They should also explain how they will maintain consistency with the demands of keeping up with blog posting in addition to education, work (if applicable), social life, traveling, etc.
- Although there is no minimum word length, the requirements will most likely be met with 800-1,000 words.
