American Scholarship Nursing Scholarship | Students accepted or enrolled in a baccalaureate or higher degree nursing program at an AACN member university associated with CastleBranch are eligible for the scholarship. Applicants must also have a minimum GPA of 3.2 in their current program or at their previous school. The national voice for academic nursing is the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). The AACN fosters public support for professional nursing education, research, and practice while working to establish high standards for nursing education and helping schools put those standards into practice.
A series of Essentials documents that specify competency requirements for graduates of baccalaureate, master’s, and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs have been developed by the AACN using a nationwide consensus-based process. With the use of these documents, nursing schools may make sure their academic programs uphold the highest standards and comply with accreditation requirements. A white paper on the clinical nurse leader and recommendations outlining the crucial clinical resources for nursing education, research, and faculty practice is also among the publications by the AACN that are of high caliber.
The AACN seeks to influence public policy on nursing education, research, and practice through government relations and other campaigning. The AACN is a pioneer in securing consistent government funding for nursing education and research, influencing nursing school legislation and regulations, and assuring ongoing financial aid for nursing students.

Geraldine Polly Bednash Scholarship Eligibility:
- All Candidates must be citizens of America.
- Candidate with a minimum GPA of 3.2 in their present program or last school they attended.
- Candidates who have been accepted or enrolled in a nursing program leading to a bachelor or higher degree at a CastleBranch-affiliated institution that is an AACN member. or have already used NursingCAS to apply to nursing schools.
Important Instructions:
The winners’ academic ranking at their institutions must be good. Only winners will receive notification of the final results due to the volume of applications received. The names of all winners will be published on the AACN website and in the e-newsletter AACN News Watch.
