The James Alan Cox Foundation for Student Photojournalists was established to encourage student photographers in high school and college. James Alan Cox was a television photojournalist. The foundation’s goal is to increase educational and professional opportunities for student photographers who exhibit passion, talent, and financial need through a range of financing sources, including equipment purchases and scholarships for college and technical school courses.
Students that produce work that “tells a story” will be given scholarships. This is a rather broad topic that could include several subject matters and methodologies (breaking news, sporting events, etc.) Please bear in mind that we are not seeking for “art” photography in the entries for still images.
