How To Apply for the Scholarship –
- The Foundation uses a computerized application method, and before an application can be submitted, all supporting documentation must be attached. Additional paperwork could be in English or Lithuanian. Documents in other languages must have translations. Although it is not necessary, filling out the application in Lithuanian is preferred.
- Applicants must click “submit” to move their application from the “draught” state. The submission will not be accepted if any necessary supporting documents are missing. Therefore, applicants should start gathering the necessary papers as soon as possible. By September 28, 2022, the Foundation must be informed by email at admin@lithfund.org to request an exception if technical issues prevent a document from being attached. Absent a letter of exception from the Foundation office.
Review Process
- The Lithuanian Foundation Board of Directors, which has final approval over each award, receives all scholarships from the Grants Commission.
- By January 2023, an applicant should anticipate receiving an email letting them know if they have been awarded a scholarship (not earlier than December 10, 2022). Checks for scholarships will be delivered in January 2023. For those who study in the US and Canada, the cheque will be written in the name of the university and sent there, whereas, for those who study in Lithuania and other countries, it will be sent personally to the recipient.
- Only a small portion of the requests that are examined by the Foundation can be funded. In some circumstances, financing restrictions prevent good applicants from receiving money. A scholarship rejection should not be interpreted as a critique of the applicant’s qualifications.
