About National Rice Month Scholarship

Seniors in rice-growing states who are finishing high school are eligible for a scholarship (Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas). The candidate is required to produce a video about American rice, National Rice Month, and the value of rice to their state.

National Rice Month, which is observed in September, honors the harvest of this modest but potent grain that has won the hearts and stomachs of Americans for more than 300 years. In six states (Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas), family farms are responsible for growing about 85% of the rice that Americans eat. That’s an interesting fact that not many people are aware of, therefore you fill that need! High school seniors in one of those six states that grow rice have the chance to tell a story about American rice through the National Rice Month Scholarship Video Contest.

Make a three-minute or shorter movie or animation that highlights this useful, delectable, and locally sourced grain. Tell us why you believe rice is important to you, your state, or the entire planet. Educate and amuse us.

National Rice Month Scholarship Eligibility –

Applicants must be a citizen of the United States.
Graduating high school students from Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas (2022–2023), the six states that produce the majority of the world’s rice.
Applicants must not already hold a National Rice Month Scholarship in order to be considered.
Children of USA Rice Federation committee members, USA Rice Federation staff, or American Commodity Company (ACC) employees. Children of USA Rice Council, USA Rice Farmers, USA Rice Millers’ Association, and USA Rice Merchants’ Association board members.

Requirements to Apply for the Scholarships –

Require a 3-minute or shorter original video about rice grown in the United States.

How To Apply? Scholarships –

Make a unique, brief video – 3 minutes or less, About American rice, National Rice Month, and the significance of rice to you, your state, or the entire world.
Upload your video to Vimeo or YouTube. Please remember that you can only upload TikTok videos through Vimeo.
Complete out the entry form, then upload your video. The deadline for entries is October 31, 2022.
Share your video on social media after you’ve uploaded it. Ask your loved ones, coworkers, and professors to view and vote for your video.
