About The Dennis Raveling Scholarship

USA Scholarship | Students pursuing advanced degrees in zoology, ecology, botany, wildlife, or other relevant biological sciences are eligible for the scholarship. An original research or management project proposal summary description of one page must be submitted by the applicant. Each year, a student or students with a passion for waterfowl or wetlands ecology are given the Dennis Raveling Scholarship for Waterfowl Research. Awards are given based on a candidate’s perseverance, stellar academic performance, and project merit. Candidates must be working toward an advanced degree in biological science related to wildlife, zoology, botany, ecology, or another relevant field of biology.

A One-Page proposal summary description of an innovative study or management topic is what applicants should submit. If requested, applicants should be ready to provide a comprehensive project proposal. The purpose of the scholarship is to give recipients hands-on experience and instruction in waterfowl and wetlands research and management techniques, tools, and concepts. The chosen applicants will be chosen by a jury made up of Dennis Raveling’s former pupils and professional associates.

Application materials should include a resume and a brief statement or study proposal outlining the course of study for which the applicant is applying. A faculty member’s letter stating sponsorship of the candidate and outlining any conditions for gaining academic credit must be included with this material. You must also include the names and contact information of two references, at least one of whom must be a professor from your university or a former boss.
